The Tree planting campaign was celebrated under the slogan”the tree of peace and prosperity”

Shah Zaman Maiwandi, Director General of the National Environmental Protection Agency, Ministers, ‎Activists, volunteers, all staff of the agency, and local leaders attended The National Tree Planting ‎Campaign official celebration day in a grand ceremony at Qala-e-Muslim, Kabul.
At the beginning, Mr. Maiwandi started by welcoming the participants and stating that the country's environmental condition has deteriorated dramatically in recent decades because of the war.so it is necessary to work together to create a nationwide movement, a green revolution, and try for a prosper Afghanistan. It needs a strong coordination among government offices, private sectors, social societies, academic institutions, scholars and teenagers.
He mentioned that a new method for tree planting has been adopted, as well as steps for long-term care and maintenance and that the process will be carried out with the involvement of the people.   
Mr. Maiwandi urged all levels of society, including  government agencies, the private sector, academic and educational institutions, social organizations, security officials, and the general public, to participate in this national process and do their part in caring and maintaining the trees that have been planted.
After that , Sher Shah Amiri, the Deputy Minister of Agriculture, Irrigation, and Livestock, promised to provide the needed trees to all agencies interested in planting trees in the capital and provinces.
Dr. Mahtab Alimi, Deputy of Kabul municipality asked from Kabul citizens to cooperate in caring and maintaining the planted trees.
Dr. Aminuddin Muzaffari, Deputy Minister of Guidance, Hajj and Religious Affairs, said: "Religion is our main address and it has given us serious recommendations about planting trees, the importance, protection and care of trees, in many hadiths." Emphasizing that tree plantings are charitable, we must all fulfill our religious responsibilities together.
He promised that all religious scholars would give speeches about the importance and value of tree ‎planting next Friday.
Kabul governor, Deputy Minister of Rural Rehabilitation and Development and an elder from Qale- Muslim area asked from the people to fulfill his religious duty by planting a tree.
It is worth mentioning that the national tree planting campaigns started across the country today, (Hoot 20), and 25 million trees will be planted under various programs.
