29^th May 2021 Bamyan
The closing conference of the Forest Rehabilitation Project to Improve Ecosystem Services in Afghanistan was attended by the Governor of Bamyan, the Director General of Natural Resources of the Ministry of Agriculture, Irrigation and Livestock, the district governors of Miramur and Sighan and the heads of government departments at the Gholghla Hotel in Bamyan.
The purpose of implementing this project is to regulate canalization, increase grassland, hold seedling campaigns, establish greenhouses and home gardens, create pots, construct irrigation projects including, solar system, agricultural water storage and canals, establish peasant field schools and hold programs. There are educational institutions in two provinces (Bamyan and Daikundi).
In this conference, the speakers spoke about the problems and challenges in various fields of agriculture and environment, considered the implementation of such projects effective in increasing green areas, reducing climate change and natural disasters in this area and called for the continuation of such programs.
