The chairman of the National Environmental Protection Agency signed documents of twelve protected areas.

1st june  2021 Kabul.
On Tuesday, Shah Zaman Maiwandi Director General of the National Environmental Protection Agency, Signed the Official documents of the twelve protected areas.
After surveying and studying the areas, Mandehir Paktia, Ad Mamed Khost, Azreh Logar Natural Forests, Garzivan Faryab, Kol Bast and Kol Rahmat Samangan, Phase II of Shah Fooladi Maidan Wardak, Dari noor valley Nangarhar  , Dowlat Shah Natural Forests Laghman, Kapisa Rigrvan, Shamanduk Kunar, and Shahrestan Daikundi are the included areas, , its official documents as protected areas were signed, and it will be officially announced in the near future during a magnificent ceremony.
While signing the documents for the twelve areas, Shah Zaman Maiwandi, Director General of the National Environmental Protection Agency, said: "Development of protected areas to attract global cooperation, scientific research and attracting tourists are very important in strengthening the national economy".
According to him, declaring protected areas allows us to make the best use of natural resources while still leaving a healthy environment for future generations.
We were committed, according to the Director General of the National Environmental Protection Agency (NEPA). By the end of 2020, we should have declared at least 5% of Afghanistan's total territory as protected areas, and I am pleased to report that we have achieved this goal today.
The National Environmental Protection Agency's (NEPA) leadership sees the signing of the 12 protected area papers as a significant step forward in the field of natural resources and environmental protection,and congratulates the Afghan Nation and Head of Government.
